THE DECORATION PROCESS
INITIAL CONSULTATION
During our Initial Consultation we come out to your home armed with lots of questions to establish your design style, vision, requirements, budget and scope of works. We want to learn all about you, your interests, your likes and dislikes, how you live now and how you want to live in the future. Everything we can learn about you helps us to create the home of your dreams.
After our meeting we then prepare a Design Fee Proposal based on all the information gathered during our Initial Consultation. The Proposal outlines the scope of work and provides a fee estimate for your project.
CONCEPT DESIGN
Between the Initial Consultation and the Concept Design Presentation we will have been busy preparing all our preliminary ideas such as Mood Boards, Furniture Layouts providing potential options and possibilities. Your mood board/s may even include any initial furniture, features or objects we’ve started to consider.
DESIGN DEVELOPMENT PRESENTATION
Now that we’ve settled on the layout, style and feel you want to create in your home we start selecting all the individual pieces to develop a fully cohesive space/s including furniture, artwork and objects, rugs, lighting, wallpaper as well as soft furnishings such as custom cushions and window dressings. On completion we’ll present you with a Scheme Board and Final Furniture Layout incorporating all our selections, any samples that may be required as well as an indication of pricing*.
At this point you are provided with the opportunity to make any final revisions.
*Estimates are only provided at this point until given client approval due to the time and resources required in obtaining accurate quotes as well as any possible changes to the design scheme.
DESIGN DOCUMENTATION
Upon approval of the Design Scheme/s we will proceed with documenting all proposed items, obtaining accurate quotes from suppliers and workrooms as well as pricing* We will then send through a Proposal with all these items as well as approximate** installation costs such as professional art or wallpaper installation for your approval.
Once items have been approved we will then issue you an invoice for all items to be procured on your behalf
*In some cases freight costs will be unavailable until the time of ordering and will be invoiced separately.
**This could vary due to unforeseen circumstances on the day of installation
PROCUREMENT
Upon approval and receipt of funds we start the procurement process. We’re busy little bees during this time so don’t be too concerned if it takes us a little longer to get back to you. We’re liaising with suppliers and workrooms, confirming lead times, issuing purchase orders, obtaining invoices, making payments, checking on progress, finding alternatives to present to you if something is no longer available, tracking orders, following up on invoices not yet received, taking delivery, quality controlling… Phew!
Once we’ve received all your items and / or have dates for delivery we’ll contact you to arrange an installation date.
INSTALL & CELEBRATE!
It’s finally here. You’ve been waiting super patiently and can’t wait to see it all come together (truth be told neither can we) but you’re going to have to wait just a little longer because we want you out!, in the nicest possible way so we can work our magic, install all your items, hang your artwork, make those beds just so and create a perfectly styled and curated space just for you. When all the boxes are gone, the last glass is polished and the candle is lit we’ll give you a call and invite you back home to see what we’ve created together.
